Billing and Payments
At Fortitude Wellness Collective, we want to make sure you fully understand your insurance coverage and financial responsibilities to avoid any surprises. Insurance policies can vary, so it's important to contact your insurance provider to get detailed information about your specific plan.
Self-Pay Options
At Fortitude Wellness Collective, some of our providers do not accept insurance. This means that if you see a provider who is out-of-network or does not accept insurance, you will be responsible for paying the full cost of each session at the time of service. If you state that you are using insurance benefits, we will always refer to our providers who accept insurance. You can also see this information by visiting our staff bios.
If you are a self-pay/ out-of-network client, you may request a superbill from us to submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement, depending on your plan's out-of-network coverage. However, reimbursement is not guaranteed, and it is important to check with your insurance provider directly for more details.
Additionally, some clients may choose to opt out of using their insurance benefits even if their provider accepts insurance. This could be for various reasons, such as privacy concerns, wanting to avoid restrictions on the number of sessions, or not wanting to involve insurance companies in their mental health care. Opting out means you would pay for services out-of-pocket and would not submit claims to your insurance provider. Clients who opt for self-pay still have the option to request a superbill for possible out-of-network reimbursement, depending on their insurance plan.
Whether you use insurance or choose self-pay, we are here to ensure you have a clear understanding of your financial responsibilities and options. If you have any questions about using insurance or paying out-of-pocket, feel free to contact our team.
Clients are responsible for checking with their insurance company for benefit coverage. Every insurance provides different coverage and reimbursement rates. The most likely CPT codes used are 90791 and 90837; your insurance will request this information when you contact them for benefits.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, healthcare providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
Insurance Coverage
At Fortitude Wellness Collective, we are committed to providing accessible care. We're pleased to be in-network with most BlueCross BlueShield, Carefirst, and Aetna plans. By being in-network with these insurers, we aim to reduce the financial burden on our clients, allowing you to use your insurance benefits to cover part or all of your treatment costs, depending on your plan's coverage. This ensures that you can receive the care you need with minimal out-of-pocket expenses.
Client Responsibility with Insurance
It is the client's responsibility to fully understand their insurance coverage. This includes knowing your copays, deductibles, and any fees associated with services provided.
While we are happy to assist with submitting claims it remains your responsibility to:
Ensure your insurance information is up-to-date.
Informing our practice or your provider immediately if there are any changes to your insurance coverage.
Understand your specific plan’s coverage, including copays and deductibles.
Be aware of any services not covered by your plan, which may result in out-of-pocket costs.
Follow up with your insurance provider for any questions about denied claims or reimbursement for out-of-network services.
Please note that any balance not covered by your insurance, including deductibles and copays, will be your responsibility. If your insurance denies a claim, you will be required to pay the full amount of the service. You are also responsible for seeking reimbursement from your insurance provider for any out-of-network services that you have paid for upfront.
We encourage all clients to visit our FAQ section to learn more about common insurance-related questions and important inquiries to make with your insurance provider. Being informed will ensure smoother billing processes and help you avoid any unexpected costs. If you have further questions, feel free to reach out to our team for assistance.
