Welcome to Fortitude Wellness Collective

A mental health and wellness space established for individuals from diverse backgrounds to embrace vulnerability and discover tailored support for their unique journeys. The definition of "fortitude" is demonstrating courage amidst adversity. When considering the mental health of ourselves and others, we couldn't envision a more fitting name, as it seeks to embody the strength that emerges when we find courage in our pain and unite as a collective to reinforce that resilience and bring life to our overall wellness.

Our Story

“ FWC was founded based on my experiences as a social worker when I was observing the needs of various communities seeking accessible and equitable mental health services. I wanted to create a practice that was rooted in understanding, recognizing, and challenging the various systems that keep marginalized people and communities from accessing behavioral health resources.

It came to life through my unique journey as a Black Woman navigating through these same systems. I often faced the stigma attached to being a “strong black woman” and a lack of safe and culturally responsive practitioners. So, I wanted FWC to be a practice that is not only accessible and inclusive but also empowers individuals and communities through an Anti-oppressive therapy lens by offering a holistic and supportive environment. It was important for me to create something that people of diverse backgrounds could find compassionate providers who practice from a cultural humility framework. At FWC we honor culture as a part of the story and work to recognize and dismantle the systemic barriers that challenge our mental health”

Why do we do

What we do

Fortitude Wellness Collective is a practice that takes a contemporary and integrative approach to mental health and well-being. The vision for Fortitude Wellness Collective is for a distinctive therapy practice deeply rooted in the community. FWC sets out to redefine perceptions of mental health while actively engaging in outreach and fostering meaningful connections with people. We do this by keeping the community's well-being at our core recognizing a systems perspective to the work we do.

FWC aims to provide people with accessible, affordable, and high-quality mental health services with the intentionality, that all of our services make a meaningful impact in communities that have been historically marginalized and underserved.

“What we must do is commit ourselves to some future that can include each other and work toward that future with the particular strengths of our individual identities. And in order for us to do this, we must allow each other our differences at the same time as we recognize our sameness.”
