RaShonda Riley LCSW, LICSW
RaShonda is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in the District of Columbia and Virginia with over 5 years of experience providing therapeutic services to individuals, families, and groups dealing with a wide range of psychological needs. She holds a Bachelor's in Professional Health Sciences from the University of South Alabama and a Master's in Social Work with a specialization in Gerontology from Louisiana State University, Geaux Tigers!
She integrates person-centered and strength-based approaches to her work with clients. She operates from an Anti-oppressive therapy framework that involves multiculturalism and social justice to inform her understanding of client concerns holistically. She integrates evidence-based modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused brief therapy, and trauma-informed into her practices.
Outside of her clinical work, RaShonda is a Researcher & Scholar currently pursuing her doctoral degree in Higher Education at The George Washington University. She is passionate about exploring the health disparities and systemic barriers marginalized college students face and its influences on academic persistence. Her research focuses on understanding the barriers marginalized individuals face in accessing mental health support, considering the complex interplay of social and environmental factors. She is committed to examining how intersections of race, socioeconomic status, gender identity, and other aspects of identity contribute to unequal access to mental health services.
RaShonda enjoys is providing presentations on a variety of mental health-related topics including workshops, panels, conferences, and podcasts. She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. When she’s not working she enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, and spending time with friends and family.
